Making a perfect reading timetable helps you stay organized and motivated to study. It also helps you to avoid boredom or lack of passion to read. So, if you are looking forward to becoming a better student, it starts with creating a good study plan which can also help you manage your time properly.

Below are some tips to help you make the perfect study timetable.

How to make the perfect timetable for study

1. Write down your core courses

The first step in creating a good timetable for your studies is to write down the main courses or subjects you are studying. You can start with the hardest courses down to the easiest ones. The essence of writing them down is to give them a hierarchy. This will help you to know the amount of time you are to allocate to each course in order for you to study effectively.

2. Find out the best time for you to read

Before you think of allocating time to each course, try to find out the best period for you to read. If you are often busy during the day, then reading at night might be the best option for you.

While most students are active at night, others read effectively during the day. Find out whether you are a night or a morning person.

If you often feel asleep whenever you are reading during the day, consider changing your study timetable to evening, at midnight, or early in the morning.

3. Allocate time to each course

After finding out the most effective time for you to study, write down how many hours you would love to spend reading. This will determine how many hours you will allocate to each course of study.

For example, if you want to spend 5 hours reading three courses, then allocate 1hr 30 minutes to each course and use the remaining 30 minutes to summarize or evaluate what you have read.

4. Add a short break in your study timetable

Creating a perfect study timetable requires that you will add a short break to your reading timetable. For example, if you are planning to read for 8 hours, try to allocate at least 20-30 minutes as your break period. This will help you to avoid feeling burned out while reading.

5. Be consistent

While forming a reading timetable is nice, being consistent with your study time is the best. It does not mean you cannot make adjustments when the need arises. But try to stick to your reading pattern and get acquainted with it. It will make reading easier and more pleasurable for you.

What makes a good study timetable?

A good study timetable must have a specific time allocated for each course of study and a break period in between this time. This helps you to stay motivated while reading.
