1. Start a blog
If there is one thing you should do before you turn 20 is to start a blog. Blogging gives you the opportunity to express your thoughts and get rewarded for the value you provide.
I started blogging when I was 19yrs old. I was still in college then and it has helped me both financially and academically. You must not depend on your parents for everything, especially now you are about to turn 20.

2. Learn musical instruments
I started playing music at a tender age and I know the opportunities it has created for me.
Learning musical instruments is not only lucrative but it is a source of inspiration and can make you happy.
If you are already into music, do not end up with one musical instrument. Try to learn as much as you can. A time will come when you will be so proud of the decision you took.
3. Find a Mentor
If there is one thing you should try to do before you get to your 20s is to find a mentor.
A mentor is someone who offers guidance, support, and advice, and having access to a mentor when you’re young can set you up for success later in life.
A mentor can help you build your skillset, expand your network, and provide critical advice on career goals and daily decisions. Not only can a mentor help you gain a valuable perspective, but they can also introduce you to the people, resources, and opportunities that can help you reach your goals.
Finding a mentor is an invaluable way to ensure you get to where you want to go.
3. Start a journal
Journaling as a teen can be a powerful and helpful tool that can help you both understand and manage your emotions.
Through journaling, you can gain insight into your thoughts and feelings, recognizing patterns and gaining awareness of how you navigate your life. In addition, you can acknowledge your successes, learn from your mistakes, and develop your personal growth through journaling.
4. Set your long-term goals
If there is one thing you should be doing in your tweenties is working tirelessly to become the man or woman of your dream. And the best way to achieve this is by setting goals for yourself.
Most teenagers think that it is in their 30s that they will start making plans for their future but life begins at 20. Therefore, make sure that before your 20s you have already planned your life ahead.
Make a list of your short and long-term goals. Think about the areas of health, career, finance, relationships, hobbies, and personal growth that are most important for you.

Before you turn 20, try to increase your knowledge. Read, listen to podcasts and watch documentaries to expand your understanding of the world.
Most people are in their 20s but they cannot boost of how many books they have read before turning 20.
Reading books during your teenage years can open your mind and prepare you for the real world. You’ll gain knowledge and learn valuable lessons that will stay with you for a lifetime.
So, if the books you have read in your entire life is not up to 100, challenge yourself to read more books this time.
6. Develop a personal mission statement
Express clearly what you want to achieve in life and why it is important. Your 20s is a period to start working on that vision or goals in other to enjoy the rest of your life.
7. Establish a side hustle
Think of a skill or service you can monetize, and start building it slowly. You must not wait till you turn 20 or 25 before you understand that life is not a bed of roses. Therefore, start a side hustle now and gradually work on it.
8. Practice mindful living
Learn to be present in the moment and cultivate a sense of inner peace and relaxation.
Mindful living is all about being aware of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions and taking time out of your day to reflect on them. Make sure you find a few minutes each day to slow down, check in with yourself and examine how you’re feeling, and why.
9. Take risks that will change your life
Push yourself outside of your comfort zone, and try something new, regardless of the outcome.
As a teenager, it is essential to take risks in order to experience personal growth and development. Taking risks helps to build self-confidence and courage, and encourages personal exploration.

10. Break off from bad friends and relationships
A bad relationship can leave you with years of recrimination and bitterness, and as a result, your overall quality of life can suffer. By ending a bad relationship before turning 20, you will soon realize you have taken the best decision of your life.
11. Quit bad habits
Bad habits will ruin your life. Exmples of bad habits to quit includes, laziness, over feeding, over drinking of alcohol and procrastination.
So, if you want to be productive in your 20s, overcome every bad habit that will hinder your productivity.
